Lil Wayne Added as Weekly Host of FOX Sports Talk Show

Earlier this summer, Lil Wayne hit the stage at ESPN’s ESPY Awards to perform a special rendition of his classic hit “A Milli.” Now, the rapper/singer will be taking his talents to one of ESPN’s competitors to become a regular face on their most popular sports talk show.

On Thursday (Aug. 3), FOX Sports analyst Skip Bayless revealed that the Louisiana rapper will be added as a “weekly guest” on his show, Undisputed, which has been off the air for most of the summer.

“Brother, [Lil] Wayne is as at least into our relaunch as I am,” Bayless said in a statement. “He is heart and soul into the relaunch. And, by the way, bigger picture, Wayne has agreed every Friday going forward to doing a segment with me live. He might not always be in the studio, depending on his schedule, but he is going to join me every Friday for a segment, I don’t know…12-15 minutes. If he’s hot, if he’s rolling, maybe we’ll keep him a couple segments. If he has the time. That you can look forward to. He is so deep when it comes to sports. He doesn’t yell or scream but he does get emotional.”

Wayne’s inclusion on Undisputed comes just over two months after Bayless’ original co-host and Hall of Fame football player, Shannon Sharpe, left the program. Before Sharpe’s departure, though, Wayne made many appearances on the daily show, giving his opinions on sports like football, basketball, and baseball. He is a vocal supporter of the LSU Tigers and the Green Bay Packers.

A big fan of football overall, though, Wayne nominated himself to be the next Super Bowl Halftime Show performer in June, looking to follow up stars like Rihanna, Dr. Dre, and The Weeknd who have done it in recent years.

“I’d kill that shit. We wouldn’t even worry about the game after that,” he said. “That’d be one of the first Super Bowls that they’ll be like, ‘Both teams were out on the field watching the halftime show.’”
