In the moving video directed and edited by Orion Owens, viewers are introduced to scenic shots of locations throughout the island. Nelson also appears, surrounded by fellow islanders, as he strums his guitar in the back of a pickup truck.

The release of Nelson’s newest music video follows the announcement of a star-studded special event to help island residents still reeling from recent tragedy. Lōkahi: A Celebration of Maui will feature live performances from Nelson, Jack Johnson, Nathaniel Rateliff, and many more artists to help raise money for those affected by wildfires that devastated parts of the island in August.

The highly-anticipated event will be held on December 17 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. Fans can find more information on the event here, including a full lineup and ticketing options.

“The View” is a cut from Nelson’s latest album, Sticks and Stones, which was released in July. The acclaimed project also includes “More Than Friends,” a collaboration with Lainey Wilson, which soared to No. 1 on the Americana Radio chart earlier this year.

In support of Sticks and Stones, Nelson and his band, The Promise of the Real, are currently out on the road for the remainder of the year. Fans can catch the award-winning singer/songwriter at venues across the U.S. through mid-December.
