Ozzy Osbourne Performed “Mama, I’m Coming Home” During Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Rehearsal

No matter if it was with Black Sabbath or his solo career, Ozzy Osbourne knew how to put on a show. Having helmed numerous tours over the years, the singer also sold 100 million albums and gained countless awards including a Global Icon Award. If that was enough, he also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Wanting to celebrate his career as a solo artist, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame looked to induct him. Already a member thanks to Black Sabbath, it seemed that during the rehearsals, Osbourne performed “Mama, I’m Coming Home.”

For those who tuned in to watch the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, Osbourne took the stage to watch a tribute to his career. Sitting on a throne, the singer received praise from numerous musicians and even Jack Black. Although some fans wanted Osbourne to perform during the ceremony, the rock icon only enjoyed the performances from singers like Jelly Roll, Wolfgang Van Halen, Robert Trujillo, and Zakk Wylde.

Discussing the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, Wylde admitted to watching Osbourne perform during the rehearsal. Appearing on the Shred with Shifty podcast, the musician said, “Ozzy sang ‘Mama’ the day before, because Jelly Roll wasn’t there. So at rehearsal, Ozzy sang it.”

Ozzy Osbourne Wants A Black Sabbath Reunion

Not giving any details on how the performance went, Wylde seemed surprised, like most, that Osbourne enjoyed the tribute for the side of the stage. “I don’t know. I think it was supposed to be, everybody was supposed to do a tribute thing to the boss. You know, how like Kelly Clarkson was singing with Foreigner with Lou Graham. You know what I mean? But like, Kelly was mostly singing the whole thing and all that stuff.”

Over the last few years, Osbourne attempted to return to the stage. Back in 2023, he was set to perform at the Power Trip festival, but due to ongoing health issues, the singer needed to back out. Although struggling with his health, the rock legend continued to discuss his return. And he even hinted at a Black Sabbath reunion. But only time will tell if Osbourne graces the stage once again.
