On September 13th, Jane’s Addiction took the stage to entertain a venue packed with fans. While the band seemed at ease on the stage, the concert took a turn when singer Perry Farrell appeared to get upset. The singer quickly turned his attention to Dave Navarro as he tried to start a fight with the musician. Thankfully, Navarro and the staff were able to calm Farrell down. After the altercation, the band decided to take some time off to reflect on the incident. As for Farrell, his wife, Etty Lau Farrell, recently offered an update on the singer and how he is seeking help.

While thanking fans for their continued love and support, Etty Lau revealed that Farrell was seeing both an otolaryngologist and a neurologist. Although Jane’s Addiction canceled the rest of the tour, Etty Lau wrote, “We are taking a bit of time to ourselves, to reflect and to heal. Perry already has appointments with an otolaryngologist and a neurologist. If you know and love Perry well, you know there’s no need for me to address the other false narratives. Our souls know.”
Although a dark moment in Farrell’s life, Etty Lau had no doubts that her husband would prevail. “With all of your love, kindness, compassion and support, you know, Perry will persevere. He will recover. He will be happy again.” She continued, “He will once again be able to share his music, vision and artistry — unbridled. Make no mistake when he’s ready he will take another giant leap over obstacles to make us laugh, think, while changing the world together.”
Perry Farrell Offers Apology For On-Stage Outburst
As for Farrell, besides seeking help, he offered his take on the entire situation, writing, “This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday’s show.” He insisted, “Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation.”
When deciding to cancel the remainder of the tour, Jane’s Addiction apologized for the inconvenience, writing, “To all the fans, the band have made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group. As such, they will be canceling the remainder of the tour.”
