Dave Navarro is issuing an apology. After Jane’s Addiction canceled their reunion tour following an onstage fight between Navarro and Perry Farrell, the guitarist took to his Instagram Story to address the tour’s would-be opening acts.

“I would like to personally apologize to @loveandrocketsofficial and @crawlersband and their crews for such a terrible outcome of what started off as an incredibly magical tour,” Navarro wrote, before addressing the former band directly.
“Love & Rockets are heroes of mine and I am so grateful I had the opportunity to perform on the same stage as them for as long as I did,” he wrote. “It has truly been an honor!”
The Opening Acts Speak Out
Love & Rockets previously addressed the tour’s cancelation on Instagram.
“We would have loved to have completed the rest of the dates on the tour with Jane’s Addiction but unfortunately the matter is out of our hands,” the indie rockers wrote.
Meanwhile, Crawlers wrote on Instagram that they were “heartbroken” by the turn of events. Jane’s Addiction’s canceled tour, they revealed, also led Crawlers to cancel their own headlining tour.
“Our heart goes out to every single Creepy Crawly, despite this being completely out of our hands we are aware how many of our US tour cancellations have effected our incredible North American fans, and it breaks our hearts that we won’t be seeing you guys for these upcoming shows,” the band wrote in part, before promising that they’ll “be back better than ever.”
What to Know About Dave Navarro and Perry Farrell’s Onstage Scuffle
The drama started on Sept. 13, when Farrell pushed and threw punches at Navarro. The band issued a “heartfelt apology” to fans shortly thereafter. They initially canceled their next show, before calling it quits on the tour altogether.
Farrell’s wife, Etty Lau Farrell, also addressed the situation. She revealed on Instagram that her husband was frustrated by the stage volume. He’d also been suffering from both tinnitus and a sore throat, she said.
Farrell himself reflected on the “incredibly difficult” situation, and issued an apology to his bandmates, fans, family, and friends.
“Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior,” Farrell wrote. He added that he takes “full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation.”
Dave Navarro’s Past Statements
The rest of the band—Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins, and bassist Eric Avery—spoke out with a joint statement. They wrote about Farrell’s “continuing pattern of behavior” and “mental health difficulties.” The bandmates also said that the cancelation was due to “personal health and safety” concerns.
“We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets. We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis,” they wrote. “Our hearts are broken.”
Following the fight, Jane’s Addiction released a surprise new single, “True Love.” Shortly thereafter, Navarro seemingly addressed the future of the band in an Instagram post.
“I was re-reading Whitman’s Leaves of Grass and it occurred to me that there is a strong parallel between his work and that of our own,” Navarro wrote. “The leaves represent the cycle of life and death, yet he continued to work on the body of poems until his own death in 1892. Perhaps he, like us, was unable to fully understand his own work as he continuously tried to re-write, add and expand upon it, willing away his own work’s cycle of life… just as we have.”
“Perhaps it’s simpler to recognize when something is gone and learn from the magical lesson of grief,” he continued, “rather than avoid it and remain in a consistent state of dissatisfaction.”
