Rising Country Star in the Studio Making New Music Days Before Lung Cancer Biopsy

While trying to expand his career in country music, Joshua Ray Walker shared some devastating news with fans when he needed treatment for colon cancer. Having to take a few months off to recover, the doctors advised the singer he would make a full recovery without further treatment. But now, it appears the cancer spread to his lungs and labeled Stage-4. Although fans continue to rally around the singer, Walker isn’t letting his health struggles keep him from producing music. Recently, he shared the news he was working in the studio just days before going in for surgery.

Posting a video on his Instagram, Walker offered yet another update for fans. And this time, many were shocked when he said, “Hey, y’all. I go into surgery in two days, and I’m going to be out of commission for a while. I don’t know how the surgery or radiation is going to affect my voice, so I’m trying to get as much done as I can before Thursday. So, I’m here in the studio, working on some new songs.”

Joshua Ray Walker Not Done Making Music

Having shared a GoFundMe to help with the financial strain, Walker praised fans for their ongoing support and love. “It’s been a week since I put out the GoFundMe, and I’m just blown away by the amount of love I’ve received, and the amount of donations I’ve received. I’m going to keep getting on here and saying thank you, and I wish I had a better way of saying it. I think the best thing I can do is stay busy and keep making music, and that’s what I’m doing.”

Although taking his health seriously during this troubling time, Walker insisted, “I couldn’t just sit around and make nothing. So, I am letting you all know I’m still working on music, and I’m working on myself. If you don’t hear from me for a few days, that’s because I’m in the hospital, but I will give you an update when I get out. I love you very much; thanks for everything.”

Gaining thousands of likes, fans filled the comments with love. “We’re here for you, your music, your kindness, your beautiful heart, and all the other things you graciously share with us. Thank you for keeping us in the loo.”
