Although wanting to leave his mark on country music, Joshua Ray Walker shared the heartbreaking news with fans that he suffered from Colon Cancer. Not letting the disease control his life, the singer not only battled cancer but continued to share his love for music. And after undergoing surgery and chemotherapy, the doctors claimed that Walkerโs fight was successful. But when going in for a routine scan, the singer learned the cancer spread to his lungs. Now labeled stage 4, Walker recently offered another update after undergoing yet another surgery.
Not wanting to keep fans in the dark, Walker decided to post a video on his Instagram page from inside the hospital. He said, โHey, yโall, Iโm out of surgery. Iโm up out of bed, sitting in a chair for the first time. They poked five holes in my ribs, deflated my lung, sewed it back together, reinflated it, and they are going to be taking a drainage tube out of it later today. Iโm going to be coming home a day early because Iโm healing up so fast.โ

Although giving some good news about his cancer battle, Walker insisted, โIโm in a good amount of pain. Breathing hurts, coughing hurts. But Iโm here, Iโm awake, Iโm alive, I made it through the surgery. Now, we wait for the results to determine what the treatment plan is going to look like moving forward. But I just wanted to get on here and let yโall know that Iโm doing alright. The surgery went well, and Iโm being taken care of. We will talk soon.โ
As always, Walker thanked fans for their continued love and support during his difficult journey. Gaining thousands of likes, fans wrote, โMan, thatโs awesome news today. Glad youโre healing well glad youโre feeling well. Wish I could give you a big hug. Nothing but love and prayers, buddy.โ Another person added, โThese updates are so great for all of us who care about you.
