Along with Lautner, the video also stars Joey King and Presley Cash, who were also welcomed to the stage at the Arrowhead Stadium for the premiere. King and Cash previously starred in Swift’s 2010 video for “Mean.”

Swift and Lautner originally started dating in 2009 after meeting on the set of the 2010 film Valentine’s Day. Both dated a few months and have remained friends since breaking up.

“He was a very positive force in my life when I was making the ‘Speak Now’ album, and I want to say he did every single stunt that you saw in that [‘I Can See You’] music video,” said Swift to her audience. “He and his wife [Taylor Dome] have become some of my closest friends, and it’s very convenient because we all share the same first name.”

Lautner added, “I respect you so much, not just for the singer you are, the songwriter, the performer — but truly for the human you are. You are gracious, humble, kind and I’m honored to know you.”

Following the official premiere on stage, Swift elaborated on the concept around the video, which features her pulling off a heist.

“I’ve been counting down for months and finally the ‘I Can See You’ video is out,” wrote Swift on her social media pages. “I wrote this video treatment over a year ago and really wanted to play out symbolically how it’s felt for me to have the fans helping me reclaim my music. I had my heart set on Joey King, Taylor Lautner and Presley Cash starring in it. Joey and Presley had been in the video for ‘Mean’ when they were 9 and 13 and they are back and so ridiculously bad ass.”

She continued, “Taytay [Lautner] is incredible in this (didn’t have a stunt double) and shout out to Tay Lautner [his wife] for being so awesome to hang with on set. … I always wanted to direct fight scenes/a heist storyline and had the most incredible time plotting this out with my amazing DP Jonathan Sela. So proud of this one.”

During her set, Swift also devoted her surprise songs acoustic portion of her show to Speak Now tracks, including “Never Grow Up” from the original album and another From the Vault bonus track “When Emma Falls in Love.”
