Tonight, we learn the identity of our season 27 winner. But first, the Top 5 get to share a stage with the one who helped get them here. During Tuesday’s (May 20) second part of the live finale, Adam David and Michael Bublé put their talents together for this stunning performance.

Along with Team Bublé’s Adam David and Jadyn Cree, each team has one artist representing them in The Voice season 27 finale. Team Adam Levine’s Lucia Flores-Wiseman, Jaelen Johnston from Team Kelsea Ballerini, and Renzo from Team John Legend also have a shot at the crown.

Joining forces onstage, David and Bublé performed “The Weight” by The Band during Monday’s (May 20) Live Finale Part 2 episode.

David’s journey on The Voice has been anything but straightforward, from earning just one chair turn with his Blind Audition performance of “Baby I Love Your Way” to quite literally singing for his life in the Live Semi-Finals.

“There’s something that I really love about a guy who has done the work, who has put in the time, who has gigged,” Bublé said. “He is a working musician, a blue-collar guy who deserves the shot… He is ready for a great career.”

He’s Been Sober For Six Years

Indeed, it’s difficult not to feel inspired by The Voice finalist Adam David’s triumphant story. Not long after moving to Los Angeles from Florida, the singer-songwriter had blown through his savings. He returned to his hometown “disillusioned, disappointed and in debt.”

“I lost all of my motivation and energy to make music, so I just started using blow to cope,” David told Recovery Unplugged. Eventually, he couldn’t get out of bed without it.

Realizing he needed to make a change, David entered recovery. He celebrated six years of sobriety in March.
