Celine Dion Officially Announces Paris Residency Comeback
On March 30, Celine Dion celebrated her 58th birthday. Like most, she took a moment to look back at the decades and her career in the music industry. The word career might be an understatement, as Dion received the title “Queen of Power Ballads.” She also holds 5 Grammy Awards, has sold over 200 million albums, and helmed the iconic theme song for the Titanic, “My Heart Will Go On.” Although the hitmaker struggled with health issues over the years, she recently announced her comeback residency.

Back in 2022, Dion made the tough decision to postpone her Courage World tour after doctors diagnosed her with Stiff Person Syndrome. According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, “Stiff person syndrome is a rare autoimmune neurological disorder that most commonly causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms that come and go and can worsen over time.” Dion documented the amount of stress the disease put on her body in the 2024 documentary I Am: Celine Dion.
With fans only wishing the best for Dion, the singer brought a birthday gift of her own when she announced her new residency at the Paris La Défense Arena. The select dates include September 12, 16, 19, 23, 26, and 30. Dion will continue her residency in October with shows on the 3, 7, 10, and 14.
Celine Dion Overwhelmed By Ongoing Support From Fans
Thrilled to get back on the stage and see her fans, Dion expressed her gratitude for the love and support she received over the years. “Over these last few years, every day that’s gone by, I felt your prayers and support, your kindness and love, even in my most difficult times; you were there for me. You’ve helped me in ways that I can’t even describe, and I’m truly so fortunate to have your support. I’ve missed you so much.”
Admitting this was the first birthday message she recorded for herself, Dion announced, “So this year I’m getting the best gift of my life. I’m getting the chance to see you, to perform for you once again in Paris, beginning in September this year.”
As Dion fought back her emotions over the announcement, she added, “I’m strong. I’m feeling excited, obviously, of course, a little nervous. But most of all, I am grateful to all of you. I can’t wait to see you again.”
It didn’t take long before the post climbed over 648,000 likes. With fans shocked, thrilled, and overjoyed about Dion’s return, the announcement quickly turned into a celebration of resilience for one of music’s most beloved voices.
