Drake Announces New Poetry Book

Currently, Drake is prepping to embark on his nationwide It’s All a Blur Tour with 21 Savage, in promotion of their late 2022 collaborative album Her Loss. But, before hitting the road for the tour, which is set to last for most of the second half of 2022, the Toronto-raised rapper is going to put out another project, but this time it is not music related.

On Friday (June 23), Drake announced on Instagram that his new poetry book, TITLES RUIN EVERYTHING A STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS, is set to release Saturday (June 24) via his website, as well as select retailers. The book is a collaboration with Kenza Samir, one of Drake’s most beloved songwriters who worked on albums of his such as If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late (2015), Views (2016), and Scorpion (2018).

“I don’t know if I have ever wanted people to buy or support something more in my life,” the rapper wrote on Instagram.

Drake first introduced the idea of a poetry book during a June 2022 interview with Sirius XM, just after the release of his most recent solo album, Honestly, Nevermind.

“Me and Kenzo have a book coming out this year — yeah, we have a book coming out this year, a poetry book,” he said at the time. “So I hope you guys tune into that too ‘cause that’s gonna be some shit.”

Shortly after announcing TITLES RUIN EVERYTHING A STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS, the 36-year-old emcee posted a screenshot to his Instagram story of a message he received from his former high school teacher congratulating him on the book.

“Oh my gosh! A HUGE congratulations!” she wrote. “I can’t wait to read it! You were always one of the best writers I ever taught.”

The news of Drake’s new book comes a few weeks after fellow R&B/rap star Frank Ocean also released a book of his own, a photography book that showcased pictures he took himself.
