On Saturday (June 24), the iconic Toronto rapper put a new book on shelves worldwide named TITLES RUIN EVERYTHING A STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS, which mostly consists of poems he wrote alongside his close friend and songwriter Kenza Samir. However, when those who bought the book opened it, they discovered a special surprise.
Inside the front cover of TITLES RUIN EVERYTHING A STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS, Drake placed a QR code disguised as a photo of two dogs, which shows the words “For All The Dogs” underneath the picture. Upon following the link connected to the QR code, a website appears where Drake announces a new studio album.
“I made an album to go with the book,” the website reads. “They say they miss the old Drake girl don’t tempt me. FOR ALL THE DOGS.”
While it’s unclear when the album will be released, or if this is truly its title, Complex reported that they believe Drake will continue communicating updates to his fans through the QR code.
“Drake released his first poetry book today – and it seems the book will also serve as another means of communication with fans… inside the front cover is an image with the caption ‘for all the dogs’ the image serves as a QR which takes you to a landing page announcing drake has an album on the way,” a Complex insider stated in a since-deleted tweet. “While there is no release day we’re inclined to think this image in the book will be the communication point for ongoing updates.”
For All The Dogs will be Drake’s fourth album of this new decade. After dropping his long-awaited Certified Lover Boy in September 2021, he put out his solo, experimental dance LP Honestly, Nevermind in Summer of 2022, followed soon after by his October collaborative album with 21 Savage titled Her Loss.
Currently, Drake and 21 are preparing for their joint It’s All a Blur Tour in promotion of their album, which is set to begin on June 29 in Memphis. So, if Drake were to release his now-impending solo album before the tour begins, he would have less than a week to do so.
