Flavor Flav Calls Eminem the Best Rapper Alive

Earlier this week, Public Enemy’s Flavor Flav visited Mom’s Spaghetti, Eminem’s aptly named pasta restaurant in his hometown of Detroit. Inspired by the widely-beloved lyric in Eminem’s diamond-certified 2002 smash hit “Lose Yourself,” Mom’s Spaghetti has been in business for nearly two years now, and Flav is now the latest of many to share rave reviews of the spot.

“Yo, let me tell you something, it’s some real good spaghetti, Eminem, I ain’t gonna lie G. Know what I’m sayin?” Flav said in a video he uploaded from the restaurant. “Y’know I had to come and support you, man, word up!”

Later in the video, though, after showering praises upon Eminem as a restaurant owner, Flav also showed love to Eminem the rapper. Thanking Em for the numerous times he shouted out Flav, like on songs “Yellow Brick Road” in 2004 and “Favorite B*tch” in 2020, Flav returned the favor by claiming that Em is his No. 1 emcee of all time.

“And thank you for shoutin’ me out in your records, man,” he said. “You be shoutin’ Flavor Flav out in your records, man. I love you, man, y’know what I’m sayin.’ You the best rapper alive, bro, you need to know that, y’know what I’m sayin.’”

Just a couple of days after Flav made this decree about Em, he and Public Enemy’s other half Chuck D were named as the headliners for The National Celebration of Hip-Hop event in Washington D.C. later this year, helping to celebrate hip-hop’s 50th anniversary. Taking place at West Potomac Park on the National Mall, the fest will also include performances from Ice-T, Kurtis Blow, Kid ‘n Play, Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five’s Melle Mel and Scorpio, The Sugarhill Gang, Peter Gunz, and many more.

“We are honored to continue to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop against the backdrop of America’s Capitol with a free event for everyone,” Flav said in a statement attached to the festival’s press release. “I can’t wait to get on stage and do our thing.”
