While fans are excited about the new season, they will have to wait just one more week. Although a little heartbreaking, the new season of SNL doesn’t air until September 28. That is only one week away. And wanting to start with a bang, the producers decided to bring in comedian Jean Smart to host the show. Not forgetting about the performance for the evening, SNL will welcome none other than rising country music star Jelly Roll.
Although marking the first time Jelly Roll will appear on SNL, the show watched several lineup changes throughout the break. Besides comedians like Nate Bargatze and John Mulaney returning to host, SNL welcomed new talent to the cast, including Emil Wakim, Jane Wickli, and Ashley Padilla.

Jelly Roll Kicks Off Season 50 Of Saturday Night Live
Looking over the next few weeks, SNL offered more than enough stars. On October 5, Bargatze will host with the musical guest for the evening going to Coldplay. Just one week later, Ariana Grande will take the stage to host with legendary Stevie Nicks performing. Moving on to October 19, Michael Keaton will travel to Studio 8H with Billie Eilish right behind him. And for November 2nd, John Mulaney and Chappell Roan looked to leave their mark on SNL.
While not releasing the full lineup for season 50, SNL wasted little time welcoming some top names to its stage. Outside of SNL, tours, and studios, Jelly Roll recently expressed his longing to have a child with his wife, Bunnie Xo. Already having a loving family, it appears the two could be looking to expand. But according to Jelly Roll, “My wife and I are talking about having a baby and it really made me realize, at almost 40, I was like, ‘That means I’ve got to live ’til at least 60. I’ve got to see this kid into college.’ ”
Continuing to expand his stardom, don’t miss Jelly Roll on SNL, airing September 28th at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and Peacock.
