Back in September, Saturday Night Live welcomed fans to celebrate the 50th season of the hit show. Kicking off the premiere, the show spent the last several months welcoming stars like Jean Smart, Stevie Nicks, Chappell Roan, Martin Short, and even Ariana Grande. Marking a massive milestone for SNL, Lorne Michaels promised an unforgettable season full of laughs, memories, and more than a few surprises. And with the new year just a few days away, here are all the details about SNL and if there is a new episode tonight.

Just before Christmas, SNL showcased the amazing talents of the cast as Colin Jost and Michael Che produced one of the most hilarious Weekend Updates in recent memory. With the cast spending the holiday with family and friends, it seems there won’t be a new episode tonight. With the New Year quickly approaching, SNL decided to take a break for the holiday season. But don’t worry, Saturday Night Live will return in January as the cast looked to continue to celebrate the legacy of Michaels and SNL.
Although there isn’t a new episode tonight, fans can still watch a rerun of the October 12th episode that featured Grande hosting and Nicks performing as the musical guest. Having hosted SNL in the past, Grande felt right at home as she performed on the show several times. Just last season, she graced the stage as the musical guest when Josh Brolin hosted.
Ariana Grande Gives Memorable Monologue On ‘Saturday Night Live’
While not the musical guest when she hosted, Grande made sure to showcase her musical talents during her monologue. Although she promised not to sing, Grande couldn’t help herself.
Loving every second, fans praised Grande for her singing and hosting abilities. Comments included, “They should submit this for award consideration. The performance, arrangement, audio quality, and choreography are masterful. The fact that they did this live after one week, while having to prep and rehearse for the whole rest of show is remarkable.” Another person added, “It’s nice when Ariana Grande reminds us she has generational vocals and the level of control she has with it; she gave an instant classic monologue.”
