Lil Yachty Will Appear on Drake’s ‘For All The Dogs’

Though Lil Yachty has already had a tremendous year thus far, releasing his acclaimed LP Let’s Start Here as well as collaborating with the likes of J. Cole and J.I.D., it seems like his biggest accomplishment of 2023 is still ahead of him. On Sunday (October 1), videographer and founder of music video company Lyrical Lemonade Cole Bennett did an interview with YouTube page Kids Take Over, where he revealed what’s in store for Yachty this week.

Confirming that he has directed a music video for one of the songs on Drake‘s forthcoming album For All The Dogs, arriving Friday (October 6), Bennett also guaranteed that Yachty will be a featured artist on the track. Titled “Another Late Night,” the song’s visuals will see Drake and Yachty soaking in nature, Bennett explained.

“Drake had a few off days in Vancouver, and he wanted to shoot a video while he was out there, and we’re working on a few different projects right now, one of which was to knock something out in Vancouver,” he told KTO‘s Arshan Jawaid. “So went out there, and with an artist of his size, you have to be aware of … we looked at a few locations in Vancouver that were a little hot permitting and all these things that go into location scouting.

“The Maple Ridge location felt the most tucked away and ducked off, and it was surrounded by trees, and it felt like the safest place to do it and a place where the artist could feel comfortable.”

Additionally, Bennett said that Drake played the entire album for him, emphasizing that it has some “great moments.”

“Another Late Night” will be the second collaborative track from Drake and Lil Yachty, following up their 2020 hit “Oprah’s Bank Account,” also including a verse from DaBaby. When speaking about the 2020 cut with American Songwriter earlier this year, the song’s producer Earl On The Beat told American Songwriter that “Oprah’s Bank Account” was a pivotal moment in Drake and Yachty’s relationship.

“[For Drake] and Yachty, that was the beginning of their relationship, that record,” Earl said.

Following this up, Yachty earned production credits on four songs from Drake’s 2022 collaborative album with 21 Savage, Her Loss, including the Earl On The Beat-produced “Privileged Rappers.” Then, fortifying their bond even further, Yachty revealed that Drake played For All The Dogs for him months ago. During an episode of his A Safe Place Podcast from early September, Yachty gave his thoughts on the impending LP, which he’ll be making an appearance on.

“It has the most, I would say like the most ‘performance’ album he’ll have, as far as like energy,” Yachty told his podcast co-host Mitch Gone Mad. “I think some of the best Drake verses that I ever heard are on this album… Some of the verses I’m just like, ‘Bruh, what’s wrong with you?’ You know what I’m saying? People [are] gonna have a lot to say about some of his topics on this album. And I don’t think he does it on purpose, I think it’s just him—I will say he deals with some controversial things.”

As of now, Lil Yachy, Nicki Minaj, Bad Bunny, and SZA have all been confirmed to appear on For All The Dogs.
