Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the second film in Marvel’s Miles Morales animated movie series, is set to release this Friday (June 2). Along with the film’s long-anticipated release, hip-hop producer Metro Boomin will provide the original soundtrack, also dropping Friday.

Throughout this week, Metro has been confirming the artists whose vocals will be featured on the project via Twitter. This crop of contributors includes legendary rappers like Lil Wayne, Nas, Future, A$AP Rocky, and 2 Chainz, along with relatively newer, but still incredibly relevant emcees like J.I.D., 21 Savage, Nav, Coi Leray, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Offset, Lil Uzi Vert, Swae Lee, and Don Toliver.
Other appearances on the album will come from British R&B singer and producer James Blake and Nigerian Afrobeat star Wizkid, along with less-known acts like Roisee, Ei8ht, and Toian.
Earlier in May, Metro previewed “Link Up” with Don Toliver from the soundtrack, as well as “Hummingbird” with James Blake and “Self Love” with Coi Leray. Although he has not confirmed the full official track list, the names attached to the project alone are enough to excite fans of both hip-hop music and the Spider-Man franchise.
When the original Spider-Verse film came out in 2018, its soundtrack included guest verses from Nicki Minaj, Juice WRLD, Lil Wayne, Vince Staples, and Aminé, along with its smash hit song “Sunflower” by Post Malone and Swae Lee, which has since been certified diamond by RIAA.
The new Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse comes just about half a year after Metro put out his sophomore studio album Heroes & Villains, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and sold 180,000 copies in its first week. Just like Heroes & Villains, the Spider-Verse project employs the help of Don Toliver, Future, A$AP Rocky, and 21 Savage.
In the midst of crafting the soundtrack, Metro is also working on collaborative albums with J.I.D., Future, and Nav, all of which he confirmed earlier this year. So, as he kicks off a jam-packed 2023, coming just after his momentous second album, Metro Boomin is bringing several familiar heavy-hitters with him on Friday’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse soundtrack.
