Drake Drops SZA-assisted “Slime You Out” Ahead of ‘For All The Dogs’

For the first time ever, Drake and SZA have finally come together on the same song. Releasing “Slime You Out” at noon ET on Friday (September 15), Drake has finally provided the lead single for his impending eighth album For All The Dogs, and he’s joined by R&B’s top dog at the moment.

Lasting five minutes and 10 seconds, “Slime You Out” sees the Drake open the song with a passionately crooned intro over the mild-manned trap-rap beat, where he sings about “sliming out” a romance of his, which basically means taking what he needs from a girl and then dumping her. He then sets the stage for a grandiose SZA verse to take up the bulk of the song.

And my slime right here, she got some bars for y’all n****s
So I’ma fall back and let SZA talk her shit for a minute

For her portion, SZA turns the tables with a fierce female perspective, using her angelic voice to “slime out” an old fling.

Frontin’ out here, like you dickin’ me out
And I ain’t even comin’ over it now
And you ain’t ’bout the shit you rappin’ about
And I can spin the ho, I’m airin’ it out

Drake then proceeds to close out the song with a briefly rapped outro, delivering bars like July, that’s when I found out you lied.

As the sole promotional single for For All The Dogs, “Slime You Out” sees a bit of a return to Drake’s R&B roots, which he noted was a possibility when he first announced the album back in June. “I made an album to go with the book,” his website read at the time. “They say they miss the old Drake girl don’t tempt me. FOR ALL THE DOGS.”

Though Drake has yet to reveal the entire For All The Dogs track list, with the album set to arrive next Friday (September 22), he has been able to confirm other guest appearances for the LP aside from SZA. Announcing to fans at different stops on his current It’s All A Blur Tour, Drake has guaranteed that both Bad Bunny and Nicki Minaj will both land on the project, his fourth full-length effort since 2021.

As exciting as it is to look ahead, though, Drake fans will surely take in “Slime You Out” as much as they can over the next week, as they’ll look to find proper ways to prepare for the return of hip-hop’s most buzz-worthy blue chip.
