Kid Cudi Says Beyoncé Show was “Greatest Concert” He’s Ever Been To

On Saturday (September 2), Beyoncé played the second of three consecutive shows in Inglewood, California for her Renaissance World Tour. In attendance for the show was none of other than Kid Cudi, a beloved Cleveland-bred rapper, and entertainer. And, hours after the show had already ended, Cudi could not contain his excitement about how well it went, wishing Beyoncé an early happy birthday as well (September 4).

“Just saw Beyonce perform for the very first time and my face melted,” he wrote on Twitter while sharing an up-close video of Bey performing. “This was the greatest concert I’ve ever been to. Fuckin unreal. Happy early Bday B!! Mad love to Hov for gettin’ me tix. Love u big bro.”

As Cudi alluded to above, Bey’s fellow superstar husband Jay-Z set him up with excellent seats, at least according to the terrific view he had while taking the aforementioned video. Though they’ve been adjacent to each other for both of their decades-long careers, Cudi and Jay-Z truly sparked their friendship in 2021, when they collaborated on the song “Guns Go Bang,” which landed on the soundtrack for the 2021 film The Harder They Fall, where Hov served as an executive producer.

In a subsequent tweet after Saturday’s show, Cudi elaborated on why he was enamored with Bey’s performance, pointing specifically at her vocals and choreography.

“Vocals on point every line every single melody was perfectly pitched,” he continued. “All live, plus dancing. I’m happy I got to witness that magic in real life.”

In the replies to his original tweet, though, Cudi received some pushback about calling Bey’s performance “the greatest.” Replying to a comment that insisted nobody could top the late Michael Jackson on stage, Cudi doubled down on how impressive of a live performer Bey is.

“This is true, but she comes pretty close,” Cudi responded. “Idk if [you’ve] seen this tour but [it’s] not to be fucked with.”

Beyoncé will be performing her final show in Inglewood on Monday (September 4), before heading to Vancouver the following Monday Monday.
