Lil Durk Released after Being Admitted to Hospital for Dehydration and Exhaustion

A little over a month after the release of his eighth studio album Almost Healed, which sold 125,000 units in its first week, Lil Durk experienced a setback with his physical health. On July 6, the Chicago rapper was admitted to a hospital after he felt a bit unwell while visiting Ohio.

Upon arrival, medical professionals soon realized Durk was suffering from a serious case of dehydration and exhaustion, likely due to his busy schedule in recent weeks from promoting his new LP. After being treated for nearly a week, Durk was ultimately released from the hospital on Wednesday (July 12), according to TMZ. Now, looking to get some much-needed rest, Durk has cleared his schedule for the foreseeable future.

My fans mean everything to me, you’re the reason why I do this,” Durk said in a statement given to TMZ Hip Hop. “I was looking forward to touching all of my European fans, performing this week(end), attending the ESPYs, and more, but after performing and traveling daily I’ve become severely dehydrated and advised by my doctors not to travel due to exhaustion. Once I get my full energy back, it’s back to business which I’m looking forward to. #StillHealing.”

Shortly after Almost Healed dropped, Durk revealed plans for a deluxe version of the album on Twitter, as those close to him expressed how he wants to win a Grammy Award with this project.

“They took their time with this one,” Durk’s producer ryderoncrack told us. “They’re really going after a Grammy for this. They don’t care about the No. 1 spot, they care about a Grammy nomination for Durk.”

Additionally, Durk teased an upcoming collaborative album with country music superstar Morgan Wallen, as Wallen was in the midst of a 15-week reign atop the Billboard 200 chart with his March album One Thing At A Time. The currently untitled joint LP would follow up two prior collaborations from Durk and Wallen. In 2021, the two connected for the first time on “Broadway Girls,” which peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100. Then, Durk welcomed Wallen to the Almost Healed track list for the song “Stand By Me.”
